Last nights opening performance exceeded my expectations. I’ve never seen the film or the musical so didn’t know exactly what was about to happen. The opening number, culminating with the entire ensemble filling the stage and presenting the audience with a wall of sound, and the narrative to life in their Settlement was impressive and set the standard for the rest of the show.
I’ve also got tickets for the final performance on Saturday, why, because it’s worth a second visit.

Tevye, a poor Jewish peasant living in Anatevka, is faced with the challenge of marrying off his five daughters amidst the growing tension in his village.
Classic songs such as “Tradition”, “Sunrise, Sunset” and “Matchmaker”, the story projects the strong influence of Being reliant on tradition and faith in times of change and turbulence. As Tevye says in the opening number “Without tradition, our lives would be as shaky as a fiddler on the roof,”
