WEOS Musical Productions is a multi award winning amateur musical theatre group based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Founded in 1949 as the ‘West End Operatic Society’ WEOS Musical Productions performs musicals to rave reviews at the grand Grade I listed Tyne Theatre & Opera House, a beautiful theatre built in 1867 as a vision for ‘a Theatre for the People’. The Tyne Theatre and Opera House is one of only about twenty-three Grade I listed theatres in Great Britain and one of only ten theatres that date to the Victorian period. As one of the few theatres left in the world boasting wooden modular stage machinery, the theatre is an outstanding example of technological, artistic and creative innovation.
Our company feels incredibly fortunate and grateful that we have the opportunity to bring our productions to life every year on this stage and share our love of theatre and musicals with our audiences. With classic favourites, such as ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ to more modern musicals such as ‘Jekyll & Hyde’, ‘Hairspray’, Top Hat’ and ‘EVITA’, there is a show for all ages.
